Did you know that billboards in Miami can generate between $10,000 - $30,000 per month? What if it were possible to create an architectural hybrid that combines the program (and income stream) of a luxury residential rental unit with the flashy nature (and income stream) of billboards? Steel Flower is a playful architectural experiment that combines these elements into a 3 sided flower like structure. The living spaces are accessed via elevator / stair and are contained within a 3 sided cantilevered steel truss frame. Digital Media screens are suspended from each side and are used to partially conceal the more private and services areas of the homes interior. The Flower like structure allows for the integration of a 65 foot tall water slide that descends from the top panoramic deck down to the turquoise waters of Biscayne bay.
